The thermal properties of the Berghaus Arnside fleece would be minimal if simply worn next to the skin but worn with base layers and under a hard- shell the Arnside performs well.
I’ve owned a Berghaus Arnside quarter zip fleece for around six months using it as a mid layer between a base layer and a hard shell. The Arnside fleece is unlike a traditional fuller pile fleece that offers a warmer, thicker mid-layer.
The Arnside fleece is styled as a Spring/Summer extra layer, which takes up minimal weight and packs down well to about the size of a pint of milk. The Berghaus Arnside fleece is available in a range of sizes from XS to XXL and in colours extreme red or green.
Its a pullover style fleece with a neck cuff zip which can be adjusted for ventilation. The garment is manufactured from double sided brushed micro fleece (100% polyester) with flat locked stitched seams. I’ve worn this Garment throughout the winter period together in combination as a part of a layering system of garments. The thermal properties of the Berghaus Arnside fleece would be minimal if simply worn next to the skin but worn with base layers and under a hard- shell the Arnside performs well.
On the subject of breathability the Arnside fleece does allow airflow if worn with suitable outer layers. Flexibility is good and the fleece allows a free unrestricted range of movement.
If you’re looking for a four season fleece then the Arnside fleece is not for you. I’d recommend the Arnside fleece as a three-season fleece or an optional extra garment to carry with you.For around £20.00 from most suppliers its an ideal fleece to carry with you.
